The one great thing about our business has always been you. You tell us what you need and almost always, I try to make it happen. That is how we ended up with programs. It was something that you needed desperately for education for your clients, professional look for you, and safety with your scope of practice.Â
The other thing is entrepreneurial lessons and marketing.Â
Then there were the websites, which we finally got figured out.
This was all easy and natural because it’s my thing. Presentations, marketing, pretty and profitable websites are all a pleasure for me, where they aren’t so much for most of you. You are good at health coaching and … well, I can tell you, I’d be far too bossy.
And then, there is office work. For myself, it’s always been to find someone else to do it or you have to do it yourself. If you read the E-Myth, it tells you to hire people who are better than you for things you don’t want to do. That’s what I do. Amanda, Ashlie, Sandee, Zandra, Laura, and a couple new team members are all so much better at what they do than me – which is perfect because they make me look even better! Â
Off and on we’ve provided virtual assistance. It was especially nice for us at the beginning of this year when we eliminated most of the work that some of my team was doing with DSD. We did work for health coaches to help them get their businesses up and running and it kept my team busy.Â
Then I started building more programs and the team was too busy and couldn’t get all my work done.Â
More than that, it was going to require a project manager to keep everything flowing. The other thing it requires is someone with a sweet but assertive disposition to keep the coach and the team moving when we were at a spot where we weren’t getting all the information we needed. So I said no more. We’d only do work for the long-term existing customers with contracts in place, business-like commitment, and there would be no more VA sales.
So I put my feelers out for freelance virtual assistants (VA’s) and gave you a list from the ones who looked like they had good references and knew what they were doing.
Well, that didn’t work. The feedback was awful. Their prices were hiked up and they were overselling services.
It’s hard to find good people to work with consistently and even harder when you’re just doing a little bit here and a little bit there.
At the event this year, I was surprised at how many of you are working full-time stressful jobs and coming home and struggling with your coaching business. It’s a difficult task when you’re putting 100% into your business, but it’s like swimming uphill if you’re splitting your time and not sure what you’re doing.
So, I’ve made some changes and here we are, offering to help. Â
The first thing to do is to look at a realistic goal for revenue. If you know that you can set a goal for 50 members at $37 a month for an annual income of $22,200.00 by February, then set a goal for another 50 each month after that:
$22,200
20,350 then increase the price to $74 mo
 37,000Â
 33,300
 29,600
 25,900
 22,200
 18,500
 14,800
 11,100
 7,400
 3,700
$246,050Â If you get 50 new members each month.
The next year, each month of 50 is worth $44,400 per year or a total of $486,550 with your first 100 grandfathered in at the lower rate. You will need to work hard and advertise constantly to get that 50 a month. If you get 20 people the first month, change your prediction, adjust your target, or raise your advertising. Â
I bet a lot of you have never sat down and looked at the numbers like this. Seeing it as a realistic goal and then applying the steps to reach them can make things happen that you never realized before. Â
I saw a course being advertised this morning and it said that you could change your own reality, and while that sounds pretty woo-woo, it’s true. You need to know what’s possible to make it happen. Â
What does it take to reach those numbers?
Your system needs to be put into place, your business needs to operate consistently and professionally and you must advertise to let people know you have something for them.
We’re putting together custom packages for you to do what you need to have done to put the systems in place. We’re even putting together monthly packages to kick your business into high gear.
It’s a lot easier to see the value of investing in building your business when you have an expected outcome.
We’ve retained someone to do additional graphic design and presentation work. We’ve found someone to write or edit your blogs. We’ve got someone to pump up your social media. Laura has taken over project management and has an aptitude for organization and timing. She’ll also set off notifications if you haven’t gotten needed information and set up discussions to clarify needs.
Right now, we don’t have an off the rack package for you to buy. I don’t like to call it an interview, because I don’t like it when I’m looking to hire someone and they say they want to interview me. As a matter of fact, I think that’s pretty arrogant, we’ll work with you if you’re eager, serious about your business, and ready to make things happen.Â
The plans are custom and I set them up right now. Maybe in a couple months, we’ll have someone else do it, but, we also want to be sure that you aren’t wasting your money, so we’ve got a few requirements as far as advertising and business tools go.
If you work full time and you’re ready to invest in your business, set a time to talk with me. www.chatwithcathy.comÂ
“It’s better to hang out with people better than you. Pick out associates whose behavior is better than yours and you’ll drift in that direction.”
We had a diamond package before that was great, but once we had it set up if there wasn’t follow up, it was money wasted. We project long-term needs and include coaching and an instruction manual. Even if you don’t do the work yourself, you should understand the systems that are in place in your own business.Â

I an new to health coaching. I am an accountant by trade for over 20+ years. I have a demanding full time job but would rather spend my time on the HC business. I have had amazing personal results and I’ve realized this is my purpose to help others. I purchased Platinum, NHI and other programs this past month. I will be a certified HC this month. I just need to know how to integrate everything and get my site ready with an autoresponder, healthie, etc. (forgive me for not knowing the technical side but I am a quick learner) and whatever else I need to know to hit the ground running and I would love to recoup my investment ASAP and help women live healthy lives. Thank you for any and all help!
Hi Karin, You and I can talk. Set up an appointment this week. What I do is go through the list of what needs to be done, then you choose what you want to do and what you want us to do. Then, we put you in Basecamp and manage the process. You have the tools that are necessary, you just need to get it all out there and let people know you’re here. NHI is a GREAT membership program. You should do very well with it.
Thank you Cathy – I will set up the appointment now.
Cathy… I personally think that we could use some really great separate “Done For You” scheduled auto-responder sets of sequence emails that automatically get sent out to either, or BOTH, our current clients ….and our curious inquiring prospects. So a really great “general” or optional “customizable” email sequence set for our clients thatwe are coaching, and one separate sequence set for our prospects inquiring about our coaching services. “Done For You” Automatic auto-responder email sequences for “general coaching services”, also for separate marketing campaign emails for prospects, ….and of course some for any programs we have or purchase, ones for membership programs, ….and ones for monthly and/or weekly opt-in “Health Newsletters” that folks opt-into also.
If you understand all that I am trying to mention and explain about above.
Sunshine
Of course maybe you already have or offer those.. don’t know. LOL
JUST MAKING mention and recommendations, ….and giving ideas on what I know
I personally would love to have available to myself on.
Thanks…
? Sunshine!
