Would You Give Vaccines to Your Children?

While I was writing our new program, Art of Aging, the suggestion of vaccines for the flu was a remedy for a lot of what ages some organ systems. While I have never intentionally left anything out of what I presented, I was tempted beyond belief.  I didn’t do it, I was surprised that so many medical documents insisted on flu shots. In fact, many authorities recommend flu shots.  I have a hard time suggesting a flu shot when I’ve seen its damage.  Consequently, I did the right thing, we included the expert advice with a warning and suggestion the reader do further study and finally discernment before getting the flu shot.

We Start Aging at Birth

Because of all that we’re subjected to, we start aging faster the minute we’re born.  As a result, it’s not exclusive to middle age, just a little more urgent.  The more toxins that are in our foods, medicines, air, home, and earth, the earlier we need to concern ourselves with aging well.  Maybe age 1 or before is a good time to start.  Since we have so many toxins we’re exposed to, maybe earlier.

43% of our children in America suffer from chronic illness, not including obesity.  That’s Forty-three percent!  Compared to their parents, today’s child is four times more likely to have a chronic illness.  (And I have goosebumps while I’m sharing this.)  To define, Chronic Illness is a health condition that lasts from 3 months to a lifetime.

From The American Acadamy of Pediatrics

“The use of vaccines has led to major improvements in child health over a relatively short period. Many of the infectious illnesses you or your parents had as children, from chickenpox to polio to measles, no longer affect most children today. If you follow the immunization guidelines recommended by the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP), you can help make your child healthier than was ever possible in earlier generations.”

Preventable Diseases

  • Diphtheria
  • Haemophilus influenza type b (Hib)
  • Hepatitis A
  • Hepatitis B
  • Human Papillomavirus (HPV)
  • Influenza (Flu)
  • Measles
  • Meningococcal Infections
  • Mumps
  • Pertussis (Whooping Cough)
  • Pneumococcal Infections
  • Polio
  • Rotavirus
  • Rubella (German Measles)
  • Tetanus
  • Varicella (Chicken Pox)

This link takes you to a page filled with results of studies on vaccines and the American Academy of Pediatrics concludes that vaccines are safe and have eradicated 16 diseases and have saved millions of lives in the last 50 years.

This link, especially relevant, explains their position on the side-effects of vaccines.

The Mawson Study

This study that Mawson conducted had 666 American homeschooled children between the ages of six and twelve years and parents around the age of 40 with an income of $50-100,000 annually.  It compared 261 children with vaccinations with 405 partially or fully vaccinated children.  The study reported health based on the parent’s report of immunization and the physicians’ diagnosis of illness.
Mawson selected homeschooled children because a higher proportion is unvaccinated.  It’s a problem in the US to find unvaccinated children.  As a result, there really haven’t been enough studies.  Mawson states that vaccines are among the most significant achievements of biomedical science and one of the most effective public health interventions of the 20th Century.

The Presumption and Problem with Vaccine Studies

…Vaccines are acknowledged to carry risks of severe acute and chronic adverse effects, such as neurological complications and even death, but such risks are considered so rare that the vaccination program is believed to be safe and effective for virtually all children.
There are very few randomized trials on any existing vaccine recommended for children in terms of morbidity and mortality, in part because of ethical concerns involving withholding vaccines from children assigned to a control group.
One exception, a measles vaccine, was withdrawn after several trials in West Africa showed that it interacted with another vaccine, resulting in a significant 33% increase in child mortality. Evidence of safety from observational studies includes a limited number of vaccines,  but none on the childhood vaccination program itself. Knowledge is limited even for vaccines with a long record of safety and protection against contagious diseases. The safe levels and long-term effects of vaccine ingredients such as adjuvants and preservatives are also unknown. Other concerns include the safety and cost-effectiveness of newer vaccines against diseases that are potentially lethal for individuals but have less of an impact on population health.

Results of the Study Show Vaccinated Children Were:

  • four times more likely to have Autism
  • 30 times more likely to have allergic rhinitis
  • 22 times more likely to require allergy medicine
  •  five times more likely to be diagnosed with a learning disability
  • 340% more likely to be diagnosed with Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder
  • 5.9 times more likely to be diagnosed with pneumonia
  • 3.8 times more likely to be diagnosed with a middle ear infection
  • 700% more likely to have surgery for ear drainage tubes
  • 2.4 times more likely to be diagnosed with a chronic illness
  • No evidence that vaccinated children were less likely to get vaccine-preventable diseases

The study is fascinating and I added a link to it below if you’d like to read the full review.

Ingredients in Vaccines

In addition to the weakened or dead disease antigens (either virus or bacteria) vaccines contain small amounts of other elements.

Download to see vaccinations and their ingredients (from Children’s Medical Safety Research Institute); if you check the ingredients, you will look at some problems, google ingredients like thimerosal.  Finally, they’ve stopped using Thimerosal in most vaccines.  It is still in some flu shots, and you HAVE TO REQUEST not to get it.

My Questions

So, here’s a study that shows that the kids who aren’t vaccinated are not more likely to get the diseases anymore.  And the children got a lot more than they bargained for and we know for a fact that vaccinations cause some terrible, irreparable harm.

BUT, although their study went a lot further than many other studies, or even bothered to study, I still have questions and don’t know the answer.
First of all, what if ALL those children who did have the vaccine, didn’t get the vaccines, consequently, they’d get all the diseases they didn’t get before. As a result, might we have deaths and epidemics again?

Secondly, are we over vaccinating? When I was a kid, we got chickenpox, as a result, we missed some school, took a lot of baths and itched a lot and got better and went back. Those vaccines were in studies when my kids were small; I refused to get them.  Because the didn’t get the vaccine and they were exposed, they got chickenpox, and we washed a lot of sheets, took a lot of baths, the kids itched terribly and went back to school when they were better.

Then, there’s the bigger morality question. Are there more being saved than being hurt? I’d hate to tell that to the mom with a beautiful child with life-altering results.
I’m not a disease specialist and only know what I’ve researched and seen. There ARE real-life stories of people – I’ve seen them with my own eyes, intelligent, healthy, happy adults who’ve had vaccines for the flu and it’s ruined them for life.  Why do we have to ask for a non-poison ingredient?  Why don’t they just take it off the market?

Time for More Testing & Substitution

If nothing else every effort should be going into replacing the ingredients that are causing destruction. I see a rush to save lives and am not a chemist, but there has to be someone backing up the people in a hurry and fixing the problems instead of continuing to use the same ingredients that are proven to cause such damage.
I am thankful my children and grandchildren have not visibly suffered from the ingredients in vaccinations. My heart breaks for those who’ve experienced the side effects.
The only decision I have now is for myself.  Although all the research says to age well, you should have flu vaccines and now other vaccines too, I won’t be getting them.  Where do you get your flu shots?  I get them at the doctor, and I don’t know that I trust them to know what’s in the vaccine.  I used to get it at the outlet mall from visiting nurses when I went to visit my Mom in Florida.  Before that, we had a benefit that I paid for that brought nurses to give flu shots to all my employees.  An employee wellness program.  I can’t even imagine what I would have done if something happened to someone from a vaccine I got for them.
Worst of all, all you have to do is see the destruction of a human being from a vaccine, meant to make him healthier and it’s the only decision to make.
I hope they have it figured out by the time I have great-grandchildren.

In Conclusion

“This pilot study shows us that if mainstream medicine and our public health agencies are really interested in children’s health, not just vaccine profits or defending vaccine religion against blasphemy, what is needed is not the will to make everyone believe, but the courage to find out.”  Celeste McGovern, Children’s Medical Safety Research Institute

Wow Cathy! Great article. I totally agree with you as far as the flu vaccine and any other vaccines they recommend for those of us over 50. My husband and I do not get a flu shot, nor do we get the pneumonia vaccine. The last time either of us had the flu was in 1999. Why do I remember that? Because we were infected when we were looking to buy a new house and the people we had an appointment with failed to tell us they all had the flu at the time of looking at their home.

I think for my husband and me, we stay healthy because we eat clean, healthy foods and take OTC supplements, along with essential oils and common sense.

Thanks for a very informative article. I’ll be sharing this one.

    Thanks Cathy!
I always appreciate you sharing your perspective and sources, I so agree with you.
One thing I am seeing among my peers now is that their children are requiring them (us) to be vaccinated for whooping cough, flu etc or not be allowed to be near the grandchildren! What?!! True.
Also, I wondered if you had any information on the shingles vaccine. Apparently there is a “new and improved”shingles vaccine out now and of course anyone over a certain age is encouraged to get it AND…if you already got one, you are being encouraged to get the “new” one. Thoughts?
    Thanks again for the dialogue.

Appreciate what you wrote. I’m a mother of a vaccine injured child and it’s a tough deal. I and she don’t wish that on anyone. There are so many ways to improve health, that at times I wonder what all the reasons are for the decline in infectious diseases, not just the ones that we vaccinate for, but also scarlet fever and such.
I’m quite convinced that good nutrition and sanitation went a long way with this.
