My inspiration for creating the Pain Course comes from watching my husband struggle years after breaking his neck. We consulted four different neurosurgeons who offered four different treatments—and three separate pain specialists admitted there was little they could do. Finally, one neurosurgeon recommended a traditional Chinese Medicine practitioner (the surgeon’s own mother’s acupuncturist!). This unexpected direction taught us how varied pain solutions can be, and highlighted the remarkable resilience of the human body. Through acupuncture, physical therapy, and sheer persistence, we discovered that a nuanced, integrative approach was the key to real relief.

Between breaking and having to rebuild my arm, and hip problems, I’ve learned personally what magic a good physical therapy plan can do.

Did you know that the brain can “learn” pain, locking us into patterns of discomfort? Research suggests we can “unlearn” these patterns, rewiring the nervous system through specific exercises, mindset shifts, and proper support. This knowledge—and our personal experience—confirmed my mission: to bring together conventional medicine, holistic strategies, and mind–body insights in one comprehensive resource. That’s why the Pain Course was born: to offer the knowledge, tools, and hope needed to break free from the cycle of pain.

There are too many people suffering from chronic pain needlessly.
